First of all about a year ago my USB port on the 4000 stopped working properly (communication errors!) and then a year later the Epson 1394 driver just disappeared too and now no longer works or installs itself. I have tried everything that I could think of and isolated it down to a malfunction on the ports. I contacted Epson’s technical support and they were pleased to announce that I needed a new main board which I can tell you was not cheap but they then told me that to fit it was almost the same price!!!
