There are a number of different options that can be selected, just try them one by one, the one that worked for me was 'Normal' try that one first, but it may be differnet depending on the printer. If your LPT port is using it's own driver (not using BIOS to run) you cant change the settings using the BIOS. See if you can change it useing the settings for the dirver.

I had huge issues with my TM-U220. It does not play well with a Centronix-to-USB cable or with Windows 64-bit.

I played for AGES to try and get it all to work. I installed the USB device driver[1] I was able to print the Test Page proving that the connection between Windows and the printer sort of worked, but when I tried printing anything from Unicenta POS, it always failed. I finally bought a new Centronix-to-USB and a new parallel port card, used Windows 32-bit, and problem solved.
