I installed windows 7 rc on an Hp compaq d220 and everything is installed just fine except for the sound card driver. I went to windows update figuring that they would have the sound card driver availalbe but to of no evail. Hp's website for that perticular model doesnt even have vista drivers. Although if you do a clean install of vista on that perticular model it has all of the drivers already.no need to go out and find anything.

Many of the driver models for Windows 7 have been changed and this is probably the issue you are seeing here. Hardware drivers always lag behind in the development of a new OS, this is necessary simply because the hardware makers must have the final code before completing the driver development. The RC Build is code complete and this gives these developers time to 'catch up' before the RTM build. Look for the driver availability to be accelerating over the next couple of months.
