I have gotten an HP laptop, but the HDD is locked and when it first boots up, it asks for a password. I don't know the password, so it then locks the HDD and then says operating system not found. Nope,in those cases it is in the HD,to prevent the Theft of Data in case the Laptop is stolen! BIOS-Passwords are easily defeated! This Feature resides in the HDD,most likely in the Firmware of the Drive,and not accessible unless you have the proper Pass!
